We are looking for an experienced and ambitious administrative director with musical knowledge and a network as well as the political flair to advance and develop Ensemble MidtVest’s position as one of Europe’s leading chamber ensembles.

Ensemble MidtVest, founded in 2002, is a professional chamber music ensemble based at the art museum HEART in Herning, where it has its own concert hall. The ensemble consists of a string quartet, a wind quintet and a pianist, and plays c. 100 concerts a year. Besides the Classical-Romantic repertoire and more recent and contemporary composition music, the ensemble has worked intensively for more than ten years with free improvisation. Since 2014 Sergio Azzolini has been the ensemble’s artistic consultant in the development of updated methods of performing Baroque music.
Ensemble MidtVest has just embarked on an ambitious audience development project ranging over several years.
Ensemble MidtVest appears regularly with high-profile artists in chamber music. The ensemble engages in extensive touring activities and has performed in the UK, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Norway, Poland, Greece, Brazil, Canada and the USA, including at Musikfestspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Schloss Elmau, Kings Place and Carnegie Hall.
To date the ensemble has released 20 CDs, mainly on Dacapo Records, cpo and Naxos.
Ensemble MidtVest is an independent institution which receives regular operating support from the Danish Arts Foundation and the four owner-municipalities Herning, Holstebro, Ikast-Brande and Struer.
